The Orangeville Lions Sports Park is finally nearing completion. The park is located along Diane Drive in Orangeville and will feature two soccer fields, fitness stations, playground equipment, walking trail, new washroom facilities, Lions Sportspad, Lions Memorial Pavilion and expanded parking. The grand opening will take place in the spring.
The Lions Memorial Pavilion is the latest structure to be added to the site. Construction began in the fall and will be completed sometime in January. The pavilion will offer an ideal location for families to have a picnic lunch and a chance to get out of the sun or rain.
The Lions Sportspad, which was constructed in 2013, has been used for ball and ice hockey. During the summer and fall of 2017 soccer fields, walking trail, fitness stations and washroom facilities were added. This park will be an invaluable addition to the town of Orangeville. Our thanks to the Orangeville Lions Club for forming a partnership with the Town of Orangeville to help make what was once just conceptual drawings a reality.
Murray’s Mountain was completed in 2009 and is another example of the Orangeville Lions Club supporting parks and recreation within Orangeville. Murray’s Mountain is an ideal hill for winter tobogganing. The hill is often used for fitness training from early spring to late fall.
