I’m new to the real estate process. How can you help to make sure I understand what’s going on?

We’ve developed two exclusive ‘On The Move’ guides for both buyers and sellers, which explain the entire real estate process. We’ve taken all the legal jargon out of our guides and replaced it with plain and simple explanations, just the way we like to do business! But the first step we usually take is meeting with you in person to find out exactly what you’re looking for, so we can immediately get focused and on the move to find exactly what you want.

What makes you different from the other REALTORS® in the area?

We have a very unique approach to client care, which is supported by a team but led by your personal agent. The REALTOR® you first start working with will remain your main point of contact and your agent for life (at least we hope!). Behind the scenes, we have a team approach, which allows us to tap into all the knowledge and experience of our entire team, but we deliver the personal attention you deserve by giving you one main point of contact to simplify communication. We are constantly improving our processes and continually upgrading our skills. We keep very current in our community and choose to only work in the areas where we have expertise. We even make sure to partner with qualified colleagues in other market areas to be able to refer to reputable agents if your search takes you out of our area. These are just a few points of difference that keep us on the move for you.

How and why did you get in to real estate?

Sheila originally was a registered nurse but left nursing when she had children. Once her children were old enough, she decided to join her father in real estate. At the same time, Mike’s family business had been sold and he was considering a career change so decided to get his real estate license as well. Unfortunately, Sheila’s father died of a sudden heart attack and never got the opportunity to work as a team. He had a significant business that needed to be looked after. Mike and Sheila quickly stepped up to the plate and ensured his clients were well looked after. Baptism by fire! Having lived in the area and raised their children here as well as being very involved in our community they had a large network of people that they knew and grew their business from there. Sheila is the detail-oriented one of the group and ensures things run smoothly and continually improving our processes. Mike has been in the sales industry all his life. Both Sheila & Mike come from successful, entrepreneurial families, and have carried on the tradition.

I’ve had a negative experience in the past. Please tell me how you will keep me informed about the process and how often I’ll get those updates?

This is an area of great pride for us. We can give you testimonial after testimonial where our clients speak about how we’re constantly in contact with them. We operate as a group to ensure there is always someone available for coverage, but we offer individual personal attention to each and every client. The agent that you begin with, is the agent you continue with. We don’t have “buyers” agents and “listing” agents to ensure there is no breakdown in communication. We are available 7 days a week on our cell phones, by email and in the office. We also recognize that during a transaction there is constant daily communication, and we have even developed a post-client appreciation program so that we continually have contact even after the transaction has ended.

I’m new to the area; do you have a network of reputable referrals?

Over the years we have assembled a list of reputable, reliable partners who are also ‘on the move’ as experts in their field. We have a list of everything in our area from mortgaging partners, painters, handymen, and electricians, to the best garden centers, restaurants, and more. We are your one-stop-shop for everything local.

You want to charge me x% to sell my home, I’ve had other agents tell me they will do it for less. Why would I pay your rate?

We are full-service, full-time REALTORS® and have a proven marketing system to get your home sold for top dollar with favourable terms and conditions. Our strong negotiating skills will ensure you put more in your pocket than with someone else. Remember it’s not what I charge, it’s what you are going to net at the end of the transaction.

Why wouldn’t I sell my home myself?

As my father used to say, “Would you operate on yourself or get a surgeon”? We’ve had many laughs about that over the years, but there is indeed truth in humour! We are experts in the real estate industry. Statistics show that 75% of homes for sale by owners do not sell in our area. And of the 25% that do, the homeowner eventually ended up hiring an agent to get the job done. Real estate is not for the faint of heart. Sometimes it can be complex, even when it appears simple. We can ensure you are legally protected, and most of the time, you will actually end up netting a higher sale price. We also have the expertise and experience to market to the right people—in the right places—at the right time, so we can attract qualified buyers and get the job done faster. And those are just a few of the ways we consistently stay on the move as professionals in our field.
