One of the biggest advantages to living in Orangeville or anywhere in Dufferin County is that it isn’t busy. There’s no hustle or bustle, no congestion or traffic jams, unless you count 12 cars backed up on Broadway as a traffic jam (Orangeville problems-lol). That can be a blessing for some and a curse for others. Most of us have the luxury of jumping in our vehicles to get to work, appointments or kids to their activities; but, what if you don’t own a vehicle? In the city it’s much easier to rely on public transit to get around. It operates until the wee hours of the morning, 7 days a week and on holidays. ORANGEVILLE TRANSIT
Orangeville transit operates 3 bus routes in town. The Orange Route which runs from Fourth Street up Broadway and through part of the West End of Town as far as Riddell and Montgomery Blvd and back. The Blue Route which runs from Fourth Street to the South side of town and the Green Route which runs from Fourth Street up towards the mall up along Hansen Blvd and down to Broadway and back to Fourth Street. TAXI
There are a couple of taxi companies in town only one has its own website.

We have a great weekend service offered by Call-A-Limo “Orangeville against drunk driving” is a service that the company offers on weekends from 10:00pm – 3:00am in an endeavour to keep drunk drivers off the road. There is no charge for this service. Narinder Paul Singh has been running this program since 2016 and offers an amped up version on New Year’s Eve where he has multiple vehicles available. Currently, their website is under construction but you can call them at 519-943-4900.

GO BUS

SHELBURNE TRANSPORTER
The Shelburne Transporter provides transportation services to individuals who don’t have the ability to use public transportation or have anyone able to assist them with their transportation needs. Eligible individuals can receive transportation to and from medical appointments. Shelburne Transporter
ONTARIO EARLY YEAR’S VAN
Ontario Early Years Centre provides a drop in environment for parents and young children up to 6 years of age. They have transportation available to and from the centre which can also be utilized for children’s appointments. You must book in advance and it’s subject to availability, a great option for parents with young children without a car. Visit the Centre’s Facebook page here. DUFFERIN COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES
Seniors who reside in Dufferin County that require transportation to and from medical appointments may be eligible through Dufferin Community Services. Assessment is required and the individual will be invoiced at the current per km rate. For more information call 519-925-5452.
