The spectacular display of over 50 000 lights at Kay Cee Gardens in Orangeville opened on December 1st and remains open until December 31. The park is open to the public from 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm. daily and admission is free! The numerous displays are provided by service clubs, church groups and local businesses.

The Orangeville Optimist Club offers numerous events and activities during the light display. Check out their website for dates and times. Special events include but not limited to: Peruvian Alpacas, Night Before Christmas reading by David Nairn, photos with Santa in the gazebo, sing-a-long with Norm, and after you have enjoyed your stroll through the park, be sure to enjoy a cup of hot cider or chocolate.

It has become a tradition to take our two granddaughters and our dog Sydney to see the lights. We went early in December when it was drizzling rain and there wasn’t any snow. Although the nights are now colder, the snow does enhance the light displays.

There is ample free parking and the park is dog friendly. Christmas in the Park is a must see so be sure to make an effort to go to Kay Cee Gardens before the lights are turned off until next December.

Be sure to bundle up and stay warm. The song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” basically sums up this past week. Hopefully, next week will be warmer for me to be “On the Move” taking photos.
