Week #21 The World According To Wayne White

Week #21 The World According To Wayne White

I worked at the Orangeville Lions food booth on Sunday, July 17 from 3:00 to 7:00 at the Ribfest and had a great time serving fries with some of my fellow Lions. The afternoon crew allowed me to venture out into the crowd at various times to take photos to share with my followers on the Mullin Group Website.

I was absolutely thrilled with the many opportunities to take interesting photos of people truly enjoying themselves. I have attended all seven Ribfests and it never fails to impress me how much fun the Ribbers are having even in extreme heat or heavy rain which has occurred in past years. With six Ribbers it was an easy task to be able to provide a wide variety of photos for this week’s blog. Flaming fires were my favourite topic.

Working in the Lions food booth was a pleasure because our location provided an excellent view of the stage so we were entertained throughout our shift. When I ventured out to take photos I was welcomed on stage to get close to “Old School” and the “Firecats”. What a great opportunity to truly capture these very talented artists in action. Both groups played a wide variety of music and received warm applause from the large audience who were wolfing down ribs.

The town has really benefited from the past six Ribfests in terms of both having a great event plus the funds have been reinvested into the community. My granddaughters frequent the new splashpad and certainly appreciated the Rotary Club for taking on this project. The Orangeville Rotary Club is presently taking on a major role in creating well marked cycle routes within town. One route joins the highly popular Island Lake trail.
