Week #35 The World According To Wayne White

Week #35 The World According To Wayne White

On Tuesday, October 4 Wanda and I along with our guests Jackie and Graham Field, who are from the Isle of Wight, ventured out on an early morning walk along the many trails at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. We were totally captivated by the amazing array of colour. Graham, who is also an avid photographer, was providing me with helpful advice on what and where to take photos in my attempt to capture the beauty of the park and the surrounding area.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park officially opened in 1985 and is located along the Bruce Trail. The park consists of six very well mark trails stipulating long or short hiking distances. The views from the lookouts are breathtaking, especially this time of year. Our dog Sydney loved the many inviting shallow ponds and the challenging step walks up the hills.

The trails are ideal for hiking, biking, horseback riding in designated areas and leisurely walking. The cliffs are a photographer’s dream come true with so many photo opportunities. My photos are just a small sample size of the numerous photos that I took on this warm, fall day.

On our way home we stopped for coffee and pie at Al Pace’s Farmhouse Pottery which is located along the Hockley road. Unfortunately all of the pies were gone after a very busy Thanksgiving Weekend so we indulged in some lovely butter tarts. We toured the studio and were very impressed with Al’s wide collection of pottery. Sharon Wadsworth-Smith has numerous paintings on display that features Island Lake Conservation Area. I highly encourage everyone to visit Al’s studio for coffee and treats and to view Sharon and Al’s works of art.

As a follow up to last week’s blog about Dufferin County-A Great Place to Run I would like to congratulate all the runners who participated in the Scotiabank Waterfront Half and Full Marathon. Judi Jamieson posted a photo on facebook of a group of nineteen ladies at the race who are all from various locations in Dufferin County. I want to give a big shout out loud to Victoria Speirs, Sharon Clark and her daughter Izzie Capone, who all ran their personal best.
